MEET THE ARTIST

I have, as many of us do, an evolving creative side and my interest is in clay. I became interested in clay in 1976, at a Junior College in Northern Illinois. The clay experience for me has been given such a vast exposure to other’s expressions. I am constantly learning and pushing forward in my own work. I create forms, on these, I explore the world of glaze application, then these glazed vessels mature in an atmosphere at 2380F. Truly an amazing metamorphosis.

We, as our clay experience broadens, wear different hats, chemists for sure, mimics knowing what was successful, and that rare space of being an artist! Repetition and perseverance is my mantra. At times, I am so pleased with my vessels, yet reality sets in and I am humbled with the pots that are less than spectacular. I believe we all carry this drive where you experience the fruition of your efforts and it carries you to try again.
